Should be an interesting rebuild.
I've been contemplating a McLean build for a while now. It's difficult to really tell from the pics on Hanks' (because they're so old), but I was just going to use Testors Gloss Red.

262emeryville here I seem to think that the color was a basic flat red, remember they were a large fleet , so i don't believe they would spend a lot on paint jobs JMO, later matt.

Mr. Brush56 If you Google----David Faust Collection, his pictures under the caption --- McLeans Trucking Company Collection you will see that most of McLeans early trucks were a bright red. In fact if you go down about 6 rows you'll find a picture of his first IH COE's, that state they were the most highly spected out trucks of there time. So I think that Jims suggestion of Testors Red or any other bright red paint would suit the purpose. Jeff

Thanks for info on paint, A bright red it is, I think a semi gloss finish will look best, as it will be weathered, I use David Faust Collection as a reference, also are these trucks a 4070 or 4070a I also need a AMT exterior post trailer.

Hi, heres a bit more done, I used satin- signal red for the colour to give it a older look & it was as close match for the decals i have made. The chassis/frame was shortened 40mm with new bits added. The front wheels are italeri centres with ertl rims, rear are homemade resin centres with ertl rims. I would`nt say its 100% accurate-more a representation. More soon Graham
